The 1913 Darracq TT at the festival

The festival has always showcased large vintage cars with a rich racing history. Mefistofele, Beast of Turin, Napier Bentley. Sporty cars from a time when one thing mattered above all else: engine capacity!

The superstructures of the cars – which could certainly be described as rudimentary but artistic sheet metal cladding of ‘car bodies’ – were often completely adapted to their function. Saving weight, improving power-to-weight ratio, being faster. That’s racing. The Darracq TT, built in Paris in 1913, weighs only 780 kg. It is powered by a 1928 Menasco Aero Engine. Four cylinders with a displacement of 8 litres produce 135 hp. This gives the car proven racing capabilities. An early old racing car.
Now that the complete restoration report has been published in a special edition of Oldtimer Markt magazine, the car will be on display in action at the Grand Meeting 2025 during the Classic Days on the circuit. It promises to be a fantastic weekend with racing legends in the old avenues and on the 2.6 km circuit.
