The 15-time motorcycle world champion
Giacomo “Ago” Agostini is coming!
Friends and members of the MV Agusta Club Germany will be holding their German meet-up here as part of the Grand Meeting Festival on the first weekend of August.
Planned over a year in advance, between 40 and 70 of these exceptional top-class motorcycles will be on display at the Grand Meeting in a remarkable special exhibition. All model years will be represented, and a large exhibition in the paddock will showcase the breadth of this legendary brand.
MV Agusta Motor SpA is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1945. The abbreviation MV stands for Meccanica (Mechanics) Verghera, a district of Samarate where the first machines were produced. The current headquarters and main production facilities are located in Varese, between Milan and Lake Como. Agusta refers to the company’s founder, Count Domenico Agusta (1907–1971).
The company produced both everyday motorcycles and exclusive models in small batches that were sought after worldwide. The name has always been closely associated with motorcycle racing: In the Motorcycle World Championship, the works team – known as ‘Reparto Corse’ (the literal translation of ‘racing department’) – won a total of 75 world championship titles between 1952 and 1974 (38 riders’ world titles and 37 manufacturers’ world titles), making it the most successful European motorcycle manufacturer.
The most successful rider in the history of MV Agusta and the Motorcycle World Championship is Giacomo Ago Agostini, who is now 84 years old.
Thanks to the MV Agusta Club, “Ago” will be making an appearance at the Grand Meeting 2026 every three days.
Giacomo “Ago” Agostini (born 16 June 1942 in Brescia) is regarded as one of the greatest motorcycle racers in history and, with 15 world championship titles, 122 Grand Prix victories and 117 fastest laps, is the most successful rider in the history of the Motorcycle World Championship. For a time, Agostini also competed in car racing, but achieved no notable success there.
